Hi guys,

caught my first yellows on fly this weekend. Ended up catching more largemouths than smallies. All on a #10 Zonker.

We can organize something in Jan, going on holiday on saturday. The farm we stayd on also has a bass dam with LOTS of fish. I probably caught 50 or so in the 5 hours I spent at the dam. All on horny toads on top! Biggest probably 1,2kg.

The river is packed with smallies. It was my first time out trying for yellows and I caugh 7 and lost about 7! There were guys that knew what they were doing and they caught plenty smallmouths.

Monster, sal jou laat weet.

Ek dink dis on-the-vaal of so iets, sal net seker maak.

'n Ander ou het vir my gese daai rivier is een van die beste plekke om geles op fly te vang...

Ok guys, the place is called aan-die-vaal and its where the Waterval- and Vaal rivers meet. We thus fished the waterval river. You can call Barry Cronje on 082 490 2145 or mail him on aandievaal@vodacom.co.za.

Visit www.vaalnature.com.

GPS: S26 57 249. E18 42 354.

Now you can just come and drop a case of beer off at my house... :hyst:

I have been there but with a bow instead of a fly rod.

Walk and stalked a springbok ram to within 20 yards but just could not get a shot.

Great lapa as well
