Thanks again Craig. Honestly, for me as an angler the Kamassi 520 was the nicest boat at the show. It looks like the perfect balance between a good size fishing platform and economy. Can be run on small motors and looks fairly light to tow. Those outmounts really open the deck up nicely. Lots of storage space onboard and well laid out.

Pat, I can't agree with you more. The two on display had different layouts that both worked.
My vriend, Dirk, wat saam met my was, is 'n GRP expert. Hy was impressed met die package en finish.
En Craig, ons moet praat oor die outmount(s) vir die Rob se outboards... OK?

Silverlake marine was impressive as well. They and Lee cat were the guys who impressed me the most. Purpose built boats!

Hey it was good to meet a few Sealiners at the show and thanks a bunch to Craig and Silver Lake Marine for the comps! The Espressa 800 WA for me, was the best boat at the show for our local conditions and fishing style. In the smaller class, the KC 520 from Silver Lake Marine has to take the cake. Excellent work and backup service from what I hear.

I loved Cloud Nine the big 38 foot (I think) tuna boat. The size of those 350 Yammies is insane at least 2 metres long and the deck - wow. Love to see a purpose built fishing boat that has not compromised in the slightest no cabin etc which @ R3.2mil is brave only for the fanatic.

By comparison (price considered) the Twister was very nice but a little overengineered for my liking. That said it had been specced from up to the tune of R400K.

The other 'boat' that caught y attention was the pontoon boat with the wood finising next to the leather monstrosity towards the exit. If I was inland that would be my boat of choice. There is even enough space to pitch a small tent on the deck Man an awesome idea for the weekend. As the rep said - you launch in the morning and everyone stays on board till you trailer in the afternoon.

The Benguela Cat at SLM was also very very nice - reckon it is going to be a serious comeptitor to the Seacats with really nice finishing.

Looking around and with a little bit of bias of course :) my choice of the KC was reconfirmed. As a fishing platform really really nicely layed out and extremely practical.

Must say my heart did go out a little bit for ... wait for it ... the Flamingo. Thoughts of snuggling in the cabin on Breede for a weekend is a wonderful thought!
