Hi Raggieman

Not sure that you are going to get any response from the ESA guys on Sealine. Perhaps like me you should post your gripes on the ESA forum or send the tread to them to see how the guys felt about the show.

Hi Raggieman

I'll put the thread on but I am not sure if the ESA guys will read it as they are aware that some of the members of sealine are quite keen on ESA bashing.

Raggieman, at no stage did I say that you were ESA bashing, read my first post and see that I was very unhappy with the show, but you cant deny that there has been some by other members and all I was saying was that it's unlikely that ESA would read the thread due to what has gone on in the past..

Brettram I hear what you saying and I feel they should do something about it cause they are going to say it was a great success - I mean walking in to the show you have a stand that tells woman to take up their right to pee like a man for hygiene - what the hell has that got to do with fishing or the guy sell carpets there. I went to see fishing tackle and paid R80 to do so - when I could have gone to my local tackle shop and seen more

I am sorry I am disgusted with the quality of the Show and for so long on Sealine I have stood up for ESA and said give them a chance but the Expo was pathetic - Tight lines put on a better show in their first year

You see on ESPN there fishing expos and you realise that we have a long way to go - but that doesnt mean I have accept sub standard and still pay for it

Couldn't agree with you more Raggie.

@ Brettam - bru, I didn't go to the Expo to attend lectures, or get autographs - I would attend a clinic or a seminar for that. I went because I wanted to see all the "latest innovations, reels and rods" under one roof. To compare, lust over and to dream about! lol!

Lectures? nah, we got the best lecturers and teachers in the country, right here on SEALINE! And as the Master Assassin said, it's free!

I know it is not the ESA team and like many of the problems they have it is not their fault - but they have set such a high standard that one has expectations before getting there - only to be disappointed

Guys
Lets be realistic here...I know this is a Sealine Forum but these sentiments are mine
1.0 I watch the Tv program every week and sometimes the reruns
2.0 I buy the magazine every month and enjoy reading it
3.0 ESA is NOT an Non profit organisation and is RUN as a business
4.0 They need to accept responsibility for their incorrect adverstising. We cotinually seem to find excuses...with this show a lot of guys paid good money to see what was adverised...imagine you see a freezer advertised as frost free and when you buy it it is NOT...you are not going to be happy.
5.0 The entire ESA team are responsible for any production..be it a Magazine..TV show ..or an EXPO.
6.0 These gentlemen continually try to hide behind the fact that they are giving so much to us...yes we agree but stop taking us for a ride
7.0 I know some members will say...take it with ESA..they dont reply.
8.0 As a member of the angling public I recently raised the question of Coflict in Awarding prizes to the tune of approx R24 000 of sponsered funds to Kyle Brothers---whilst I agree that they are not employees they have benefitted from ESA baits and experience..and then put with the Mr Joe Public and they win first and second prizes.
I still await their reply.
9.0 Whilst I enjoy ESA they must be responsible and accountable.

Time and time again we are let down, in this instance especially with all the hype surrounding the ESA expo ... All parties involved whether it be event organisers, advertisers and the lack of truth through their media, the ESA Team from Raymond, Abel all the way down to the gaffer have to accept responsiblity for their complete and utter nonsence that was the EXPO this weekend:headb:headb:headb

I have had to put stands together for trade shows for many years. The people who put together the shows are the biggest waste of space ever.Last show we did at the CTICC was the most embarrasing evr.The people organising the show sent out updated shhets a month befor showing how many companies were attending. We looked at it and promptly invited clients from the states to come and join us.Guess what. The sheet didnt show all the cancellations that had happened over the three months previous.I think at the end there were only 5 companies exhibiting. All for R50000.
Moral of the story.Dont blame ESA to much. They probably handed it over to a hosting agency , who did all the advertising and then couldnt pull in the exhibotors.By the time the advertising was paid for and the venue booked , it is way to late to pull out of hosting an exibition

Is it not called a "pro series". Open to anyone who is not employed by ESA.
I can promise you that Rob does not get financial remuneration for his guest appearances on the show. Mr Henn purely uses Robs friendship with Wes Rapson to fish Kosi bay estuary and surf. Otherwise Rob has no affiliation with ESA, except Wes.
I believe he has every right to fish the Pro series. He is just a fantastic angler who has used all his experience to win all the money. I think its good for him. And Wes is cursing him because he is winning all this money while he is earning what is a meager salary from Mr Henn.
Mr Henn is the only one making the moola.
