Which line to use?

Hey guys!

I am sure this could be a very heated debate, but would prefer it to be plain and simple with not too much mudlinging going around:fbash

I have always loved the Kingfisher Giant abrasion, but have found their prices increasing tremendously since the last time I bought. I have tried the Double X brand, but feel that the line becomes extremely coarse very quickly...

I have bought some of the locally manufactured T Line tapered leaders and find the quality is quite good on them and are not too pricey... I would like to know how you choose your choice of line and also why you prefer them.

Has anyone tried the T-line Platinum?

Not to steal the thread, but an added question: Is anybody using Perlon? I have had a bad experience with it and would appreciate other comments on it.

ive got tline on my one shimano, no hassles cast nice etc

the other has kf gA. Also good line.

Then it depends on weather u want diametre or abrasion resistance....

Techniperlon camo has thin diametre vs breaking strain, but their abrasive resistance is very poor

Maxima is supposed to be good, i only use it for traces etc.

How do they rate the abrasiveness on line and also where does one look to see what every line has to offer... Coz the prices on lines differ extensively

Yes, I love it! T-Line Ti is brilliant quality line for the price. I have it on my Saltist 40 (.50) and no complaints so far.

I have T-line X, in red on my Saltist 40 and find it a little tougher than the KFGA. Both are good, but Kingfisher doesn't like to be 'Kraainessed'. It damages easy.

Look for Okuma high abbrasion. Its made by the same company as the Kingfisher H/A only difference is the sticker on the spool. Its about R50 cheaper per roll on the 0.55

Hi I used the Okuma high abrasion Platinum clear .50 and .55 before. Both lines worked very well for me. Castibillity exelent with little overwinds. Cant seem to find it any more only comming in a yellow version now. Doesnt find it to be the same. Switched over to Okuma High abrasion.40 clear and very happy with it. King Fisher also good just a bit pricy.. Line diameter on Okuma and King Fisher is the same but a breaking strain difference of 1 kg in favour of King Fisher. However i have tested both and both breaking at about the same weight. Cheers Sakkie
