which fly line to use

Hi

I am knew to fly fishing.Can somebody give me some info on wich fly line to use for general salt water use.Want do some fishing on Kosi Bay lakes but dont know if I should get floating or intermidate and what colour.

Howzit Zach and welcome man!!

 

For your type of fishing, get a clear intermediate line. It will allow the line to sink through the surf and not wash out like a floater will. With this line you will also be able to fish poppers to some extent. You will probably be going for kingfish, wave garrick etc, for which you would use clousers mostly I guess. Your choices are many but go for airflo or the cortland 444 lines they are good and not too expensive.

 ps I see now you want to fish the lakes specifically but the intermediate will work there just as well.

Cortland 444 SL which I  is excellent,have it on my Hardy Zane Reel
