basslover - my cousin (who caught 8) went all over on the dam with the float tube! I skiem its a perfect big dam for float tubes! quiet a trek to the otherside, but just put 20mins aside to cross.... and then you can fish that whole bank stukkend.... will be cool, was thinking of tuning you about it even....

boats dont bug me to much... you just bob a bit, then carry on fishing.... hehe....

bliksem that must of been cool catching that bass off the tiny torpedo and spinning.... sheish...

Might go to BASS LAKE this weekend, since it is the last week until November that you are alloud to catch there...Anyone wana join me?

Tx Culprit. The 2 boyz and myself did the Vaal Saturday PM for about 3 hours and seems like the cold front a week ago was still having serious impact. The youngest  got two of which one was a keeper...............getting better than his coach now!!! What is the trend........how many days after c/front before it's up to speed again?..............water temp now 16.4!!

Hi Hennie

Nice fishing. Normally after about a day or two after the cold front everything should be back to normal. I fished the Vaal on sunday night. Launched my boat just after 5 and caught 3 nice fish before dark, also dropped two.

The fish are getting very close to spawning on the vaal now. Fish close to the banks on the concrete walls.

If you have done that for a while and had no luck try a deep running crankbait. Move the boat a little further back from the bank and do long slow retrieves.

Two very different tactics but one of them should give you fish at this stage.

Seems that this year will be producing some big fish this year. I already know of one fish over 3kg that came out on Saturday..

Hi guys

We are going to Klein Kariba Resort this week end. My grl and her dance friends is taking a weekend away. Apparently the resort has a single dam with Bass in it so hopefully the fishing drought will be eased a bit this week end.  I am still showing some signs of withdrawl symptoms..... Smooth thumbs, clean clothing, dry hands and a bit of the shakes.
