Hi there,

it's an awesome little dam. Fish the stretch from the dam wall, lots of deep trees there. Actually, most of the opposite side is quite good.

Another good place is the right hand shore close to the river (where the road stops and towards the river).

Last place is right across from the dam wall, in the corner and right towards the river.

Just be careful if you're on a pontoon, LOTS of boat traffic on a SMALL dam. Luckily the whole river section is a no wake zone.

Good luck!

, Buffels is a really nice dam, though only being there once. I only fished the eastern side, across the papgooiers. Had a great day fishing. Posted at http://sealine.co.za/view_topic.php?id=5221&forum_id=32

All the fish was caught between two stretches of grass created by the high level of the dam.

Hope you have lotsa fun there.

JohanVC, Just thought of that now... No wonder it's being going bad with my catch results, I caught my yearly quota of bass at Buffels :?

Hehe. Ain't no pro material me. I'm known to scare fish or make them laugh when me get the change to fish on a boat. And I tend to beleive the sign-boards the fish place in the water saying: "Ain't NO fish here, GO HOME, Don't collect R200" That was purely being the right time, location and... something else, still have to figure that out.

I've only had 3 days like that in my whole blind-throwing life.

Pictures?, I have a "ja-broer" brother still saying he'll send them pics. Still waiting for the email.

Any news on the guys that fished the Vaaldam the past weekend?

Some feedback on Vaaldam on Saturday

4 boats 6 anglers 1 fish and a few fish dropped and a moerse amount petrol burned.

Must say we didnt fish for quite a while as we tried to see a bit of the dam.

I did about 120km's for the day (thank goodness I have a 4stroke)

The dam is big, dirty and there are lots of structure to fish. I am quite keen to see whats going to happen at the ESA next month.

my cousin did well... 8 fish, two bigest 1.6kg - 2.kg going back next weekend with the right fishing technique.

Yes, buffelspoort...
There was traffic, but dont think too bad???? but havnt fished in ages so not sure whats bad and not bad...

the water was crystal....
My cousin gooied everything... eventually by 12 he gooied trick worm, and start catching. he reccons that only the stumps were holding fish... (the last hour I fished this technique and started catching successfully).
**the fish are serious fighters** cant believe it....
I fished the whole dam (exept papgooiers dank), and caught two fish... was trying to fish a jerk bait and see what it does if you fish it the whole day, (What a cuck idea?), the fish didnt smark it... they wanted plastics.
Natural colors and thin line... glittery stuff didnt work as well as pumpkin acording to cuz.

Here's the answer...
two rods

-bait caster with clear 16lb magnathin or 14lb whatever lear line with a senkko... pumpkin seed.... (dipped in what we all know)

-spinning rod with 8lb magnathing or 6/7 lb in whatever clear line. with a trick worm... pumpkin seed.

Thats what im doing monday coming, will let you know how things pan out....

Oh yes.... the pics up's were a bit skelm... but nothing the adverse bass fisherman cant handle, haha.... its actually lakker when you have to figure out if it fish or weeds...

(**but let my tell you, the fish PULLED!!!!*)

what other deatil you need?

Yeah, and he caught it on a small tiny torpedo using a small spinning rod. You should have seen that rod bend!! It's more for catching small kurpers...

Awesome fun!

Have any of you fished Mokolo Dam? I want to go there in 2 weeks time...
