Hi Johno,

Take your drop shot rig with and fish small baits like Jnr Flukes and even Tiny flukes… we just fished the Midmar Two Man challenge and the fishing was tough! A lot of people blanked! We got 5 dinkies on day one and 4 on day two and we came 10th!

Midmar is fuller than I have ever seen it and the water is flowing over the wall at a rate of knots and it’s a completely different dam to 3 days ago!

hi thanks for the info on bait sellection. will be going to bass wold tomorrow.

Just want to know if you know which parts of the dam had the most success? and/or any spots you would reccommend? thanks :)

The dam is 100% full and over flowing… I have never seen the dam that full and that means that any spots you are familiar with has now changed… I think it’s too early to expect the bass to have moved in the newly flooded vegetation and while it’s always good to check the shallows we found that we did better at the 10-15 foot range. We found the areas from Boat Hire through to Hobie Point to be the most productive… but of course that is not saying much because it was one fish an hour scenario… so it is slow… if you are pre-fishing for the ESA or BETT then fine… if not go to Albert Falls or Inanda.

Vlakvark, Zkadir, probably The Kid, myself and hopefully Bigmouth and Sonix will have the first GP Bassing Social happening on Sunday at Ithumela from 6:00 onwards, so, again to all those that feel like getting off the couch for Sunday, come join us and hopefully you can teach us something new....

well, im thinking of going to doodekraal again, we cought killer bass the last time with deep divers but we lost our lucky deep diver sooo i need to get another one this week. The security guards are full of sh** there becouse your not allowed to use your motor on the water and u cant go were the birds are and thats were the bass are most likely to be... and please be carefull couse the guards watch you with there binoculars, so no doing funny sh** on the boat......

In that case, I'll see you there...... gotta hook Dorothy's bigger mate, the one with the 5kg+ number plate.... cruising the same shallows from time to time.
