where is the best yellow fish venue near Port Elizabeth

Howzit Guys,

I will be down in SA over June and would like to fish for yellows when the weather is kak at the coast, have fished with great success on the Orange near the Gariep dam, but that is still a bit far.

Any suggestions for good yellowfish venues closer to PE?

Closest location thatI know of that you would be alowed is the oxbow dam between Fort Baufort and Queenstown if you go go in groups.

that is about 250 km from PE

He will put onto the Yellows. We caught quite few in the Darlington Dam during our nationals and the Sundays as it flows out of the dam in that area has some nice rapids and plenty of good yellows there. (About 150km from PE)

Tight lines and hold on when one of those Huge Whiskery thing latch onto your well presented fly

Wriggelswade is also a good venue but best fished from a boat for the yellows

Contact Alan Hobson at the Angler and Antelope Guesthouse in Somerset East, he has access to streatches of the little fish river with some excellent yellows. Not sure of the distance but a weekend trip can include some trout as well.

kliplaat river outside cathcart, hogsback is decent!! not a very long stretch, but have caught some very nice fish in the rapids and pools.
