I'm probably one of MANY keen galjoen fisherman. I wouldn't say I'm a born recreational angler, but I do like to stick to the rules and I often think of future fish stocks.

Not often you catch 2 gallies, which is the limit, but I know of guys here in George which are really good gallie fisherman, but they always keep their undersize gallies. They purely go out to catch as much as they can, and then they sell the fish as well.

Now, the size for gallie is 35cm, and often I will release one that size, because only then are they sexually mature to spawn for the first time. (and are 6 years old)

I wouldn't like to mention a name or two, but don't you guys think that such guys must be taught a lesson somehow?

Happens all over ,when the shad come on the bite here, okes go mal, even seen policemen,of whom are aquantances, haul bucket loads of shad away, what do you say?Had a go at my cousin a few years back for catching and keeping 32 grunter in one weekend,he did not speak to me for a few months as if I did something wrong

If they were selling fish to feed their families i would not mind so much, but with most of these guys it is about greed and nothing else.

Ahem .

*cough *

We all know how difficult It feels to be faced in this sort of predicament .

Eish , it's not nice to be faced with a situation like this , most toughest situation to be in .

Comparable to telling someone they have yellow teeth , or that the styink of sweat ...

Funny Thing is though - It's Not you who is At Fault , and the Bugger of it all is you physically Need Proof That the "low-life" is either selling em or eating plenty of fish .Otherwise- your argument is complete hear-say , and ya got No Leg to stand on .

We've got someone in town with the same bad habit , at first i Thought it was an Ego Thing : now though it would appear that old habits die hard .Very hard . I told Darius I am scraping up the courage to confront him and ask him why 20 alikreuk and XXX are Permissable to Be removed , even if Only to Be Thrown back in for Bait . it's just Not On , and the irony of it again , is that some of the twits you catch selling the stuff actually DON'T Need the Money .so- Is it Really that profitable to catch and Sell fish ?

If ya Love doin it so Much -come join a vessel and fish to your hearts content . There's No denying fishing costs us all bucks , I simply refuse to Feel comfortable fishing with a new Reel that I bought through the Sale of 7 smooth hounds .

Next Breath , the guy will tell you how he really "battled to find a spot that produces."

 ?

huh ?- WTf ???

It Saddens me to See This Occuring and has been a topic of Much debate on Sealine many times , the Reality is that it cannont Realy be stopped , but it would be of such great help If there was an organization a little stronger than Mcm , to drive home the Need, on a Far More Personal manner(stop the guy on the spot and k%k him out )  for people to Limit their Catch , Not catch their limit , cuz Most of em don't even Stop at the limit .

the best is to get some of that old red bait that one uses for them. go to cash crusaders and buy a old liquidiser and put the redbait into it and liquidise until a fine past, then just pour it down their cars airvents infront of the windscreen.

not gonna work, true gallie anglers love the smell of vrottes and normally suspend a kop or two from the rearview mirror as an air freshener ::S

hehe! I once had a bucket of prawns fall over in the cars boot, the buggers crawled into every nook and cranny and I managed to round them all up...so I thought, after a week the car started to honk, after two it smelt like a grave! Some of them had managed to get under the back seat.

dont worry its happened to me as well and lank of my mates. the best / worst i ever had was going to fish for tuna in a 30 knot west and as we left the harbour i wanted to put something into the hatch and there was a 5kg box of pillies that had been there for 2 weeks. the maggots were so dik it looked like the pilchards were swimming in that box. so lets say it was a very long day at sea that day for me.^^..::S::S
