what is the difference

Both are Eagle rays, with just a colour variance

thought as much. know most creatures vary from area to area, but this is the same area. diet maybe?

maybe the darker one was nearer reef and the lighter one nearer sand for a while before being caught?

Dit is so in die kol, net die hengelaars moes omgeruil het. Maar ek moet se dis lekker om 'n cheetah so op die sand vas te druk!!!!!!

They look like duckbills to me......Whats the difference between an eagle ray and a duckbill - always thought an eagle ray was spotted..

Vishan the eagle ray youget in Natal is the Spotted Eagle Ray - black with white spots

A 'normal' eagle ray is any shade of brown with a short stubby nose

A duckbill has a longer nose and blue stripes along its back

Also check the placement of the dorsal fin.
