I don't think those are juvenile leervis.
Here's a pic of what a juvenile leervis looks like.
Note also how aggressive they are even at that young age.
Only a bit bigger than the lure it grabbed.
This was one of many we caught that session.
Great to see healthy juvenile stocks.

Not vertical bars and brownish yellow colouration of fins.
This specimen will slowly start to lose those patterns and resemble its eventual(hopefully) adult form.

I dont think they are garricks becuase i have caught them before and their colouring and mouth is different.

You cant see in the photo but along their lateral line they have small spots and their bottom jaw is longer than the top jaw, so "underhang'.

Compare the shape of the pic of the garrick and the 'unkown' fish, they are different.

It looks very much like baby shad those. Def not leeries as I have caught 100's and there coulor is not right...

I have caught baby shad and they seem to fit the picture 100%. It is sometimes a bit difficult to id young fish as they could have various colours.

As an example, shad caught in rivers like Wildernes, swartvlei is a golden colour, not because of size but more stained from the roots of the reeds or some funny plant... Where is Aqua?

These fish looks like 2 different types of fish??? The one on the left a shad, or it def looks like one, and the one on the right could be a queen?

It could only be the photo quality but they dont quite look like matching twins.
