Wetsuit Lube

Dag almal.

Hi,aqueous cream or conditioner thinned down with water are definitely fine. You can dissolve a few table spoons if aqueous cream with very hot water in a 2l coke bottle. This should last for a few dives and is also the environmentally better option unless you are using biodegradable conditioner.

I Currently use Agueose cream but I saw on the Ingredients List that it contains Petroleum which concerns me. Should I be worried or am I just not using the original product.

I find using "lube" to get into a suite (be it conditioner, showergel or aqueous cream) almost always end up with me getting a rash, so I simply put the suite on "in the water" be it on the slip way, on the beach or out at sea..

Common sense however does dictate that this isnt always preferable given how cold some of the water is that we dive in, but it is one possible solution, albeit a poor one especially if you are in Paternoster preparing for a "hottieshoot", for example..

This of course also depends on how fastidious you are about your wetsuite, maybe braving 12deg water is worth it to preserve the neoprene from damage by petroleum based "lube". Ultimately, its up to you.
