There are 3 different types of log cabins. They consist of cutlery, 2 plate stove, bare fridge, pots and pans, plates and glasses, toaster and Tupperware. There might be extra utensils which I might not recall at the moment.

I have only rented a 2 sleeper log cabin, but there are 2, 4 and 6 sleepers available. The amount of utensils, size of stove and fridge al depends on the size of the cabin. The 2 sleeper had a double bed with newly washed sheets and pillow casings. There was also a broom, dustbin and there is a wooden bench on the porch of the cabin. U also don’t even have to take a gas lamp as there is a porch light which was sufficient for me. U can plug 3 to 4 electrical appliances in at once, so there are sufficient plugs.

If u are going to say the weekend, u have to book for 2 nights. The same goes for tents and caravans. A deposit of R200 is also paid (for a cabin) at reception once u enters and can be collected if all is well when u leave.

If  u don’t have a canoe or bait boat I would not suggest renting log cabin 37-42, as there are big willow trees that make bank casting difficult. Peg 44 can be used to cast from the side but it might give problems. Peg 35-44 are all log cabins, there are also sum cabins between 1 -34.

In my opinion a log cabin is ideal, the only equipment u are going to need for the weekend are, food, wood and fishing gear also warm clothes. The rest are provided as indicated above. They are a bit pricy but if money allows, I wil book a log cabin. My brandy and coke is always cold and ice doesn’t meld.

2 sleeper log cabins are R750 for 2 nights, entrance is 2pm Friday and if no one booked Sunday u may leave later the day. If it’s booked departure is 10am Sunday morning.

Additional night is R350. I’m not sure if n can book only one night during the week? But I would recommend 2 nights minimum.

The camp site is also 2 nights over weekends, entrance and departure is the same. Usually no one is there on Sundays so u can stay the whole day at the camp site for free.

Just remember al persons camping must be there on the Friday. If u is using a camp site u may have 4 persons for R500 for the weekend, additional cost if there are more. If only 2 arrived on Friday and the other 2 on Saturday, they wil be regarded as additional persons. U do get a card which u use to enter and leave for the duration of your stay.
