Weekend Fishing - Cape Town

Hi Guys

We will probably go out this weekend, maybe we will meet up with you guys if thats ok. We often fish Muizenberg, strandfontein in the evenings with no hassles, but we obviously dont fish really secluded areas.

Hi Binx, here are a few

Starting from Strandfontein, once you enter past the robots, turn right, follow road till you approach t-junction, turn right. This area is called "Broken Roads" There are always guys fishing there, i have been going there for years, with no problems.

Then there is the beach road between strandfontein and muizenberg, excellent spots, also guys always fishing, try the spot at the toilets, has produced when conditions are perfect. Then just after the toilets, turn first road left, there is big gravel parking, try there.

The only advise I have been given is don't park too close to the toilets, as sometimes guys lurk in the shadows there and jump on you on your way back to your car.  I dunno whether people are just becoming more skittish these days.

I used to fish that road often solo, until one night a guy and his bud arrive at the car park, the first question they asked was "am I carrying", I said no and they said not to worry because they were and i should just stick close to them.

We chatted about safety and incidents, then the one guy jokingly told me I was a mad honkey!  LOL

Myself and Larry have fished a few times without incident, but don't know whether I'd fish beyond Strandfontein (toward Stellenbosch) alone.

Hi guys,

I tried my luck at fishing, but no luck. have fished off a boat before and caught some crayfish and yelleowtail.

I want to expand my knowledge of the false bay and shore angling. I would like for someone to teach me the in and outs of fishing from the shore line.

Basically a fishing buddy/ies will do.

Anyone out there that can help a novice fisherman?
