Wanted -Old 60hp Mercury motor

[MichaelK]

A friend of mine has a boat with old 2 x 60hp mecury motors. The one motor is givng him endless problems, so he is either looking to purchase another good condition running motor or one to use as spares to fix his existing motor.

If you have an old 60hp mercury gathering dust in your garage and would like to offload it, please post pictures here and attach a price.

See picture below of the problematic and damaged motor

What spares does he need? I have some parts.

[MichaelK]

A mate of his who is a Motor mechanic offered to service his outboards for him. The chap serviced them without putting the muffs on and running water through the engine. It buggered up his pistons and cylinder. Basically he is going to need a new powerhead.

New pistons and to have it rebored is to expensive for an old motor like that.

He has been communicating with a guy in the freestate, but i'm not sure if anything will come from that.

Do you have the powerhead and if so what would your asking price be
