Walking across mpa

Hey guys
Can you walk across a mpa to get to a fishing spot? I know it seems like it has an obvious answer being yes, however im more concerned of walking back with fish and gear across the mpa and someone stopping you even thought it wasn't caught in the mpa itself.

Is there something you can do to prevent this misunderstanding? Wouldn't it be a problem or is it just something you need to avoid?

You don't need to worry. As long as they can't provide evidence that you caught those fish in the MPA, they can't charge you.
There is a MPA we always have to walk through at Stillbaai and we have never had any issues with being stopped.

DAFF - funny one.

2 weeks ago I was fishing around Pearly Beach. Having watched a bakkie load of poachers enter the water and 2 of them exit with scuba gear earlier, DAFF comes driving down the beach.

In the bakkie we have 4 DAFF members. The driver eventually gets out of the bakkie and walks over to me asking for my fishing permit. So I walk back to my H-frame and open the top zip pocket. In the ziplock bag I have licenses dating back to 1997... anyway, I quickly realise my new one is still in the bakkie's cab, but I don't say anything and hand over the one from last year that dates Dec 2019.

The official then fills in his own report for the day without saying anything..... the man is clearly on top form.

When I asked him if he thinks they are winning the war against poaching, I got a blank stare back.

So ja DAFF - always puts a smile on my face. I am sure there are some good ones out there, just haven't crossed paths.
