Van Stadens Mouth Area

Here a question for the P.E guys on the forum. Can any of you give me any information about the above mentioned area. I might be visiting the area this summer and would like to know what to expect. I will be fishing for edibles, dropshotting and fly-fishing. I might have a try at sliding for a shark or two.

Hi Poenskop

Excellent surf fishing spot - miles and miles of pristene beach.

Great place for targeting cob, white steenbras, spotted grunter, baardman and large sharks. (summer being the best time for the bronze whalers)

Let me know when you come down and maybe we can hook up for a throw - I live in beachview ± 8Km's from Van Stadens so I know the area well.

Plenty of options that side of the world be sure to try out Gamtoos River mouth as well!

Hi Guys

Ja, it is a nice spot to work from as a base camp - Plenty other great fishing spots within a 50Km radius of Van Stadens so don't limit yourself to one place.

Spent weekend before last on the Gamtoos river - cob havn't started biting properly yet but should be coming into the rivers soon (hopefully before October).

I'll be there from the 13 January 2008 for about a week. It would be nice to get some local knowledge of the area. I will PM you closer to the time.
