Vaal getting cold

went to the vaal on Sunday,hell the water is starting to get cold I thought I lost my nutts.The fish is not that active now you should take a boat to target the largemouths now up to August.My dad got a 10kg barbel on a nr16 nymph and my brother in law a nice muddy off 2.5kg,my best yellow was 3kg.

I fish at Wag n Bietjie, the best water in the vaal I have been to many places in the vaal but at wag 'n bietjie you can get smallmouths up to 5kg and largemouths up to 7-10 kg lots of water very nice place near Bothaville on the Free State.

Those are some good fish you got there. Thats a power section of the river you fishing there and Andre is one hell of a nice guy. Spent many nigts with him watching rugby in the lappa just watch out for his mates ...those boys can drink the hind T*T off a camel !! Do you camp there or stay in the two bungelos ?

eendekuil, strydoms, oosthuizens. Fish 3 weekends a month in summer months and once a month in winter, do you have gps coordinates or directions to wag n bietjie for me please? perhaps we should arrange a trip. been tying like a deamon and those new flies need to hit the water.

Nice fish in the pic, i can imagine landing that barble on a no. 16 hook, damm ..... will be praying for the line not to snap of or the hook to open well done.
I fish the Vaal as well and still a novice. It's been a bad year thus far as i only caught them muddies, no yellow gold for me. I guess will have to wait for summer to catch one. I normally fish Silwe Stromme and think it's time to try some new spots in summer, at wag n bietjie is it a good wading spot or do u need a boat? also how far drive from Jhb is this place? Thx
