Right, setting up another session at Umdoni Point for Monday 28 December for those who are on leave and want to go for eds or ineds.

Let us know if you are going to join in and we can make a plan to all meet up there.

Thanks.

I think by warren's talk it's 5am.. Firstly, where you coming from???.. You will prob have to pass Amanzimtoti and then go on to Kingsburgh etc..Umdoni point is on the free way after scottsburgh you can't miss it! Travel time is about 30 min's.. Put it in on google map's. I hope this help's you.

Low tide is at 06h46 and high at 13h06 so I would like to get there by about 05h00 to fish a bit of the out-going and then in-coming tide.

Down the N2 and take the Sezela turnoff. At the top turn left and double back northwards towards Pennington. Past Selborne and take the Pennington turnoff to the right. Third turn to the right, marked "Umdoni Golf Course". Straight to the dirt and depending on what time you get there maybe a guard at the boom. Straight in and just follow the road down to the old railway buildings. Park there and walk across the railway line to the bay area; Umdoni Point is to the left of the bay.

The parking is very safe and is in view of the club house. The whole area is fenced and patrolled by security guards.

The walk is about 400 meters over rocks to the actual point but you can fish closer to where you park (about 150 meters).

Traces - it depends on what you would like to target; this spot is known for some big ineds!

That is from Google Maps and show the club house (for the golf course) on the left at the end of the road. Parking is at the building close to the railway line. Umdoni Point is to the north and as you can see it is all rocks. Off the point are a few scattered reefs but some sandy bottoms and sandy bottom going south into the bay from the point.

@ Quick Bite - I usually take 2 or 3 outfits with me:-
1. 14' for larger fish
2. 11' for spinning
3. 9' drop shot / livies

As for the bait, it depends what you want to target; Umdoni is known for some big nunus so if you want to get stretched bring the YT's.
