trout in summer

Plz help. I went to footloose trout farm a couple of days ago and it was scorching hot I didnt catch any trout the whole day Does any1 know how to catch trout in warm weather

Trout are not really the kind of fish you want to target in summer, the lie very deep and are not very active, a fast sinking line with a bright wooly bugger might produce a agressive strike, try early mornings and late afternoons.

Good advice fro Ed. Also look for inlets into the dam. Anywhere where the O2 level is higher. The fish will be stacked up there. Also try really small flies eg size 14/16 flashback nymphs. Often there is an evening rise. Use a midge pattern under a strike indicator.

great advice there, i'd also suggest slowing down your retrieve to almost a dead drift. also keep in mind that windless evenings can produce a lot of insect activity on the surface which will probably draw some attention from the trout. i've done well with white death flies on fairly long leaders and light tippets fished right in the surface film on still, hot evenings, so that should be worth a try.
