Man I tried for my big Flatty (that's the reason for the Occy at all times)
LongCast from EL had a serious Duckbill on for 2 hours and managed to get it round from Shark Point to the beach but his allbright between leader and steel pulled while trying to get it over the lip.
Monster off a Duckbill, the fish bent him bad and he only got up at 11 am the next morning
That's why a windon or power swivel between the steel and leader is the way to go (in my books)
Fit - nah I don't know - Fishing nuts yes. I was re-named as Terminator by the Slovaks as I fished 14-18 hours a day for the full trip. The Ghillies had a problem keeping up till Zola got on board. Man that is a seriously dedicated fisherman and Ghillie, he was on the rocks every hour I was and when we pulled the 40 hour shift he fished just as long and hard.
When the fish bite we must keep a bait in the water, us Ballies need a few points on the board.
Hows this for a smile of a Ghillie who gives 100% all the time - he also knows the water and reads the waves like a Pro. Not a bag carrier but a fishing and hiking guide who knows fishing: Zola Swelandowo
