Howzit. A good, inexpensive and easy to use rod that I started out with is the Carp Zone 10 for the lytie. Its a composite rod and is very light, making it easy to cast with. Its very cheap too. Can probably pick one up for around 100 bucks. A very descent graphite entry level rod would be a Schalk van brede tournament pro 12. Very good quality graphite rod with a bit of a stiffer action as opposed to normal carp rods making it slightly easier for starting off carp fishing, allowing you more lee-way when casting and fighting fish. It goes for around 300 bucks. I believe sensation also has very good entry level graphite rods so have a look around. Okuma has got some good bait runners that are light on the pocket too. Good value for money with Okuma reels. The longbow series is one of my favourites. I started off with one many years ago and still use it up til today at club comps. 10 lb line is thin enough and strong enough to start out with. a pair of good iron collapsible bank stinks are perfect. shoulndt be more than 50 bucks a pair. get a descent landing net, a box to put everything in and youre good to go.
