Hi Thika
The difference in handling is unbelievable, my previous 660 had twin ultra long 90 2-stoke Mariners, the difference between the two is really amazing. Just goes to show how various set-ups, although sometimes small make a massive difference. The 90's I had weighed in at 139kg's each and the 115's are in the region of 194kg's each, I find the boat more responsive in terms of handling and she doesn't seem to "hop"out the water as much as the previous boat. I think that is probably down to the fact that the boat has better weight distribution. But as you mentioned, the general maneuvering around the harbour is excellent, but the thing that impresses me the most is the stability. These boats have always had the "shits" taken out of them because they are "tender", well I think I might have found the answer, for me anyway. I have also taken the Bennett trim tabs off and trimmed them down(no pun intended), they were 350mm wide, you can probably trim the "Tafelberg" with that. So I cut them down to 240mm and moved them as far apart as possible. I have employed the simple rule that things of this nature are more effective the further they are apart. Net result "BINGO"works like a charm, once again much more responsive and the stability is brilliant. I looked at fitting the same kind of fins you have on your motors, but having got the boat with the Bennett's, it was more cost effective to stick with them. I must say, you must have one of the neatest 660's around, very nice.
Now if this bloody wind will stop blowing
I will post a pic of the boat tomorrow.
Cheers Mike
