BFC how different is that ace craft 16'6 to my ski craft 16'6 underneath. dont know the linage maybe u know more history. look very similar. the position of the fuel tank in chris teers ski craft, 100-125 l in the front plus crew meant that he put 60 bigfoots on the back to get the balance right and does mean she has a particular ride dynamic. i cant wait to see her finished!

I attended the JHB boat show the past weekend and as luck would have it , I ran into Chris Teer and asked him this question and learned something new , both the Ace Craft and the Ski-Craft are actually Brother and Sister. Hulls were both designed by David Gurrado and he adapted the same design with less freeboard backward centre of gravity and shortened Chines for Natal Conditions for Ace Craft in the 80's , and the Ski Craft was adapted for Cape Water Conditions with higher gunnels full length Chines and centre of weight a little more forward favouring Cape Conditions.

so that makes me both a ace craft fan and a butt cat fan! talk about pedigree skiboats! gonna be hard for thika to handle, im a man on both sides of the fence! anyway there must be some one keen on taking a ski craft 16'6 mint condition off my hands, she is beautiful, a true cape legend! just needs a new home, cant afford to run two boats.

Ace Craft built a limited Edition 24ft Walkaround Cuddy.

but seems like only 20odd were ever built , were they built from the 660DV moulds or a seperate boat on its own?

I am sure it is the same DV 660 hull

A friend of a friend, a dentist named Erik from Vereeniging, had that cuddy cabin, named Ace of Spades

We were slaloming on short and long ropes on the Vaal, and our semi-intoxication and bad driving led to the Wilgerboom shore anglers klapping his wife on the breast with a kleilat!

Hmmm,

Finally the truth is out...always suspected you of being a bit of a problem kid and closet case!

But unfortunately have to "prick" your bubble...butt cat not in the pedigree division, not yet anyway!

Butt, thanks for your honesty...you can apply for membership in triplicate every neap year!

Maybe you can include the Official Seacat guys as well as they seem to have 3 posts per year - if you consolidate maybe it will go up a bit and then you guys can sing Coombaya and have a Cat group hug :SSS

I know she is the sister of an ace and not a true ace, and i know i'm not allowed to play on both sides of the fence but here's a truce picture..

Isn't she beautiful, such lines and i bet my life i will never climb on a more seaworthy and mannered 16ft ski boat. A true Cape Legend, and she taught me to fish and caught fish too!

Now this is going to be interresting , Just, asking : why another 85 Yamaha? if I was going this route with 3 motors maybe a 70/90 Suzuki 4 stroke - 2x 85's 2 strokes to get thru the gnarly stuff and troll all day long on the 4 stroke?
