@ Alien Invader, East Coast resorts is a long road, what area do you normally fish, Some awesome spotted Gulley sharks out that way
Between Rainbow valley and sunrise on sea..
Pulled out a lot of small sharks while targeting Blacks.. HOWEVER! Every time I put a slide bait out "Live bait" I get smashed up, especially at night!!! Shooo! Many of them I have not even been able to turn after there 2nd or 3rd run, as soon as you bully them a bit, they clap it into high range and floor it! Bwaaa haaa Good fun though!

Aaah, so you have a little peice of coast all to yourself. I'd keep that quiet;)

Sounds like you're having encounters with Spotted Gulleys, Nothing a bit of heavy kit can't take care of((r(e(ling

That's why we gonna go show the invader how its done. Few streepies as bait and its game time

Not sure how spotted gully shark fight? I have caught a lot of sharks in Natal though, black tip, zambezi & bronze...
None were to big though, all around the 5 foot range...
What takes me here though is something different.Very gentle bite/pull followed by a slow reel constant run (Always the same) Once you set the hook all hell breaks loose with big bumps and head shakes, short run followed by more head shakes and a jerky med speed run, once the drag is tightened all the gloves come off... Chaos! If you manage to gently pull it/her in, as soon as it/she gets as close as the white waters it's Game over! (I say her/she as only a female can be so cunning to lead you on like this!)
The fish simply peels the line out and forces you to make the next move,,, I tighten my drag when I can see through whats left of my line... pffft!
If it helps at all, when on the last run it pulls a very constant speed/force, almost like a big diamond ray but much much faster.. I'm really keen to learn what it is!
If I wss a betting man, I would go with a 6 foot black steenbras with twin volvo penta's fitted... Cant wait for someone to prove me wrong... Until then, They are Black's on steroids! That's how it is!

As I said before, I'm more than likely lacking in the skills department here.
The fact that I have no patience, doesn't help matters either.
I use anything for bait here, black tail, stripies/karanteen, small rock kod, zebra fish, basically, what ever my kids pull out goes back! lol!
Must admit though, it's been over a year since I last through a shark bait in.... Focus is more on my cooler box and collecting bait with my kids...
Strange how fast we take things for granted... Pffft, the sea, I'll see it today and i'll see it tomorrow...
