That is so weird!!! About two months ago i found exactly the same fish inside a chokka that i bought here in Cape town. Still used the fish as bait...but alas.. nothing!

Depends what quality chokka. IQF Jig caught export quality chokka has been between 90 and R100 for ages now.

The prices you guys are quoting is for block frozen stuff that is then defrosted and repackaged!!

Ja.......I can also get the stuff i was talking about in my previous post for around R55/kg in PE......then transport it to CT in refrigerated truck.....becomes around R70 odd bucks per kilo.....then the shops need to add VAT and markup.....quick quick R95/kg

Bought some yesterday for R70/kg, they are individually packed. If you take the skin off they are white as snow and the flesh is nice and firm. I have in fact ate some of it on a previous occasion because the look so fresh. It tasted good. As bait they do the job 100%.

It can still be very very good.......but not as good as the stuff that is individualy sleeved and blast frozen on the boat. To each his own i suppose.
