Finally!! thanks Enigma.
caught it on tuesday night 10pm at Brenton on sea, low tide. Went with the missus for a romantic weekend wth a little fishing or should i say a fishing week end with a little romance
Hit the beach and walked for 2km... till i found my spot that i marked earlier in the day.. threw out a sardine for my lady in hope of a cob or elf.. while i rigged up with a mussel prawn combo... 3 o bandit and 16kg leader and bombed it out..The weather was perfect, no wind and the waves rolled in perfectly.
Within a few minutes my girlfriend said she felt something so i put my rod in the holder and went to help her... was just sea movement.. i turned to look at my rod and i could not believe it... it was bouncing like dolly partons knockers... i ran grabbed my rod and line was just going zzzzzzzz... what a feeling when i hit it.. my rod stayed down and boy i could feel the power. i have fished endless weekends for years waiting for this...
Th fish ran 3 times.. everytime it came onto the bank it took off... my girlfriend was screaming with excitement as she has had to put up for so long listening to me go on about one day.... i will get him stories
Finally after about 10minutes i ffinally saw him... wow.. the best feeling ever he was on the beach and so beautiful.. silver and looked HUGE.. I could not believe i finally had my steamtrain!!
We took a couple of pis measured him (80cm and 6.25kg according to ori) and i put him back... sadly he was on his side, i grabbed him.. and tried to move him around to revive him, the next thing i was knocked off my feet by a wave, lucky i was not deep. I got up soaked... sadly the fish had washed up on the beach. I was heartbrocken as i have so much respect for the fish and i know there is nothing more beautiful to see them swim back strongly.. knowing that it is all about the love of being out there and seeing these amazing fish...
Well it was an amazing evening.. i walked back hopeing people would be awake so could start sharing my story.. unfortunately no one was around. My poor girlfriend had to carry chairs and bait boxes all the way back as i had the rods and my fish.
Thanks to all my fishing buddies who have been there every other time... this ones for you my boys!!!!
