Evening fellow fisherman,

Just got back from a week in Keurbooms, had a magical time. The sea was was extremely big the first few days and just managed a few blacktail, small stumpy and a baby sand steenbras. on low tide i stocked up on fresh bait and red crab and by day 3 the water had calmed down and was rolling better. On the pushing tide I went down to the same place i had got the bait, hoping that the cut open pods of red bait would attract a few straglers. I put out 2 rods, one with blob of red bait and one with a crab, then sat back and enjoyed a ice cold heieken After about 15 min, i was checking drag on my "crab" rod....i looked back at my other rod..... and the rod holder was lying flat in the sand, i thought it had just fallen over when next thing my rod was being dragged towards the sea(and yes drag was set), Managed to grab and hit it..... boom on!!! what a feeling Gave a nice run in the front and at first i thought it must be a cracker but was just as amped to see a nice steamtrain.... 77cm and weighed in at 4.2kg... I do pratise catch and release, but as the girlfriend was with.. this one came home to be enjoyed with steamed veg and few more Heinies!!!!!

Thanks for all the acknowledgements guys, I got it to the left of the restuarant, just before the river. I also hooked into a bigger one but the hook popped out in the surf:fbash......

Anyway just had another fillet this evening and smack of sea!!!
