Hi All

Went to St Lucia for my annual family/ fishing holiday:dban: from the 26th December to 6th January 2008.

However ..... you know that @$%^%$  ...Murphy... a week before we go down my son breaks his right foot playing indoor soccer.

So with this handicap we had to fish spots which did not require much walking... kind of difficult being on crutches on the beach.

The weather was generally good with lots of sunshine.... the winds were all over the place and we had some big sea's and times with lots of weed in the water....but we fished around the obstacles.

Hi Raggieman

Trent got a 14kg giant sandshark and I got a Raggie of 165kg's.

But I still can't get the pictures uploaded???? 

Help needed for the IT challenged....please.

I got her at View point at St Lucia. the bait was a Bonnie head on slide.

It took me an hour to land her. We took out the hooks, measured and photographed her and then put her back.

Wow it was amazing!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the raggie boet. I went to St Lucia from 19-24Dec. I tried my heart out, sliding bonnie heads, fishing for edibles, and caught stuff-all. Seems my fishing is worse than my mojo!!!!

Thanks mate.

Sorry to hear that you did not get any fish .

In total we had 6 pulls on slide. Two fish landed,1 burn off and the last 3 no luck  .

Where were you fishing at St Lucia?

I was lucky I found a nice working bank at view point in St Lucia...I only fished for eds the one morning and I got a threadfin kingie and lost a cob of about 8kg's in the surf.

The guy fishing next to me caught a black spot kingie of 14kg's and 2 southern pompano of about 2 kg's.

If you walked to the mouth of the Umfolzi... the shad were thick... on Saturday (5th Jan)  we took a walk in the rain at about 11:30 between myself and my girlfriend we caught 22 shad ....kept 8 and let the rest swim free.

Then that afternoon the kingies arrived and were smashing the shad in the shorebreak.... but I had already left by then..... sadly.

Congrats man, great catches there and much more precious memories by the sounds of it, happy for you bud.

Been out at Southbroom meself and even tried Swartkops in PE over the festive season, something chowed my berkley jerkshads to shreds but nothing took the hook, played around with smaller jigheads, smaller sections of the nuclear chickens but still nothing.   Even tried the entire storm range of lures, agga shame, nothing.  Got some Lgf's from a pond in southbroom after every blanked trip to the salt however...... but still no salty fin on me hooks, YET!

Will be in Sod in late march early april, so hoping that my salt tally will get a good start then.

Wes, I was only in St Lucia for 4 days. I went to Vidal one to slide a bonnie head it the light house, but Nothing. I went edible fishing at mission rocks, but still nothing, except for the mad kudu cow that ran into the sea and drowned. And twice I tried to the left of the Umfolozi mouth, but still nothing.
