been out fishing a few times but not as much as id like to. so far ive caught 1x 31cm shad, 1x138cm smoothhound, 2 small blue rays .one diamond of 124cm this morning on the point, lost a rag pup and another diamond this morning, rag hit the rocks and diamond hooks pulled. also had one sinker chowed off by a rag. quite a productive morning on the point for me. my phone went for a swim so i'll load pics once i can get them off it.

@Enigma, do you think a raggie? because i had a sinker eaten a few minutes before and a while later the one fish i lost right infont picked up the bait and came in like rags do.

guess would be on a raggie as others usually make clean cut ie White, Zambezie and a Bronzie makes cuts but clean and sharp

got a big karanteen and some big cape stumpies in the river the other day with some mates and my girlfriend and today got some tiny stumpies that were a mission to hook and even a baby garrick, about 10cm. very interesting colours on it and how different it is to the mature garrick. will upload pics when im home...

oh my friend Mitch also lost a big fish on the rver on a tiny hook and little rod... i pressume it was a diamond as there werent distinctive headshakes, just slow runs. hooks pulled after about 15mins.

woohoo! got my first big fish off the point and my first big raggie! went to the point this afternoon after lunch and went to trophys rock but the wind was too strong so i settled on kommetjie, slid a tail head and a mullet flapped. brought in the head and changed to a fresh karanteen id caught a few days ago. i tried a variation of the mackerel flapper used for bottom fishing, its like flapping a bait but you only cut a small section and just remove the tail and about 5cm of the backbone and leave it like that so no cottoning and the fish still looks natural but has more movement and smell. as i was outting the rod into the stand after sliding out my karanteen and setting the drag line started peeling off so i thought it was the wind but then more line came off and i picked up and was vas. she came in fairly easily with some heavy bullying but then she swam up and down the ledge there for a while. i got her close a few times when two other chaps, wes and his friend, showed up and helped me land her. she was in and out the gully a few times and without their help i wouldnt have gotten her in, thanks guys. took some nice pics, measured her and sent her away and she swam off strongly. 183cm pcl and 115kgs according to fishweights.co.za what an awesome way to open my raggie account. will post pics once theyre emailed to me.

Lekker bud. No wonder me and ian can't get hold of u !!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be there again thursday !! Was there monday till 6:30 and not one pull
