KILL it, with FIRE.

Hulle het altyd winter maande in ons koshuis kamers kom lê. Nogal skrikwekkend as jy wakker word met so pappa op die muur/dak wat jou sit en aangluur!

I worked for the fire dept. and we stayed in a park home ,I was sitting on the couch watching tv and one of these guys crawled down the curtain and sat next to my head ,one of the other fireman pointed and when i turned my head i looked straight into its eyes,I ran the sliding door right out of its frame.

Weet jy waar kry ek die meeste can hulle - in my kar!

Dan is dit gou n vinnige pit stop by riaandl om hulle te verwyder - ek is nie maatjies met hulle nie.

I did my masters thesis on toxicology of some spiders. The Black Widow isn't very dangerous, except to the elderly and very young children depending on the bite area. Sac spiders are not deadly, but the venom causes massive tissue destruction. The six eyed crab spider from Namibia is known as one of the most deadly in the world, only a few recorded bites all of them fatal. Here in Oz the Funnel web spiders are deadly and the White-tail to a lesser extent. The violin spiders are found in SA too, and can be dangerous.

Most spiders are not venomous and I would implore anyone not to kill but remove safely and  put them outside.

We often get baboon spiders (also known as tarantula's) and/or rain spiders. If you have a very lush garden, they're bound to be around. They do an exellent job of eradicating pests, like mice, cockroaches, etc, etc.

We kill enough fish and bait, so i try and not kill spiders. They are relatively harmless. Just catch them in a glass jar and release them back in the garden!!:SSS:SSS

I believe everything in the bible... except the garden of eden story... i think an error crept in over the years... i'm certain SATAN disguised himself as a spider and not a snake...

I spray those boys with doom till they are white!!! As miles said they are fond of a garden, their favourite favourite are those green ivy creepers things that grow against walls and such. HATE THEM... if i see one in a room i'll throw everything in reach at it first and will not sleep till it's dead.

These "rain spiders", are also called, "wolfspinnekop", "wit dame" and a few others. They are not the same as bobbejaanspinnekoppe.

Now to really make your neck hair stand up... you will see the rain spider, if it lifts it's legs up, has yellow and black knit one slip one lines running on the inside of the leg. One of the most poisonous spiders in the world, looks exactly the same as this spider, but is from south america. They have one on display in London, and the case it is in is directly linked to scotland yard, the closest hospital and the alarm company.

I've got goose bumps just looking at those photos. If you want to see a grown man run like a woman screeching bring one of those things near me.

Thats when my MANNA image disappears

I k@k scared of Rain Spiders but cannot bring myself to kill them. They are so big I feel like I am squashing a mouse or something.
I once was trying to remove a Rain Spider from my ceiling at about 3 am with a broomstick and a glass vase. The spider managed to jump on my hand. I squealed so loud like a girl and dropped the vase which smashed on the floor. Not only did I wake up my wife and daughter, but my neighbours came to see if all was OK as they thought someone was being murdered. LOL. I would rather deal with a Puffadder than a spider like that. Now I have a huge Tupperware bowl that I get the spider in and then throw the Tupperware, spider and all in the garden and go get the bowl in the morning when its light.
