I agree. There are only about 3 or 4 trawlers that are working.
The inshore trawl grounds were reliant on St Lucia and Richards Bay river systems being open and productive. Since they have been closed, there are hardly any prawns left on the Tugela / Tukela Bank.
The guys were fishing offshore on the deep grounds.
I think the Sorensons are the only ones really working now and their boat is quite distinctive.
It is kind of an old herring boat design from the 60's or 70's.
Spanish boats are usually very new. They have had decades of subsidies to spend on newbuilds.
