You guys should post a thread with your innovative designs and how they work because I think there is a lot of people like myself that maybe know a lot and carp fishing but would rather target the real monster in our waters. However do not do it before you make some sales otherwise unfortunately someone could steal your ideas.

A quick question, I haven't really used circle hooks much but I know a lot of catfish fishing is done on a running rig, how does the hook then penetrate the fishes mouth cause I know you shouldn't strike either.

Well in the start i also wasnt realy sure about the sircle hooks but gave it a go. On the right baits they work very good. Once the cat pics up the bait it usualy swims away with it and swallows it while swimming so always give the fish enough time to run and then slowly tighten ur drag. once the line tightens the hook will roll right in the corner of the cats mouth. My hookup rate with sircles has inproved almost 10fold and they work realy well on carp heads and platties. Just make sure the hook stays proud and free to do its work as intended. Take note the next time that u catch a barbel and its close to the side they like to shake there heads sideways. i believe that they use this action to swallow the bait and thus making the sircle hook more effective. my 2c
