So on friday night my friends deside whe have to go fishing the next day and seeing it is long weekend and i know i have some house work to complete i deside hell why not.lol

So of whe are to renoster spruit at 4:30 in the morning.

Get there and have some coffee and of whe go to scout the water for some activity and man what a sight! My friends were all targeting carp and i am sold on some cats for the day. Luckily i took platties with wich i stock in a tank in my garage so no need to catch a carp first. In goes my lines and now the wait starts. Of goes my first rod wich i placed some distance away under a bridge that holds swallow nests. Nothing big but a nice start to the season and the fish pulls the scale on 6.53kg.

The rest of the day went the same and managed to get 4 cats in total all of wich were in the region of 5 to 7kg. Whe had yet another coldfront so fishing was hard once again and even the carp were not biteing so no big baits for big cats. My tackle was 2x 7ft rods and a 12ft spinning rod. 50pound tug o war braid and double action sircle hooks in size 5 from Team Catfish. o and i only fished with platties.

Thanx Aqua! Ja the fish were not big bud atleast got that feeling of viskoors so now i feel better and cant wait for the rest of the season!

Awesome fish cheetha, I see you've got the cats twirled around your fingers, sorry about the rugby though. Thanks for the pic of the rig the sinker setup looks interesting will they fall off if snagged?

Jip those sinkers are designed for the purpose of antysnaging and will break off before the mainline does. Regarding the rugby whell not much i can say so i will keep doing what i do best and that is fishing.lol.. The rig components u can order by me or nobbles or skuimkop.

Catalogue is on the way. Taking its time but hopefully for the new month it will be done and sent to all interested.

Your right Chettha there is nothing that cn come between a man his rod and the water. There is an inspirational speech there some where

Also on the TeamCatfish snagless sinkers. The plastic that holds them will be cut through by the line, if you really give it a big pull. But the main theory is the way the sinkers are positioned and there size. By this design you eliminate most of the risk of some thing being snagged, the sinkers should slide through most gaps and are very good at not being snagged in rocks.
