good idea the kayak fishing thing...just remember as per extrraction from Recreational Activity Brochure, page 4 :

[align=left]Only shore angling (and no other type of fishing) is allowed between the mouth of the Lourens River, and the eastern breakwater of the harbour at Gordon’s Bay, extending 500 m seawards.[/align]
[align=left]Most of the kayakers ive seen doens comply with this and i bet not even aware of this but then again the guys from Fisheries in Strand/Gordons Bay is non existant[/align]
[align=left]They getting paid to sit in their vehicles eating KFC the whole day everyday[/align]

Ek is al amper 20 jaar betrokke by kompeterende hengel en was nog nie een dag spyt nie. ek het baie geller en die belangrikste is wat ek kon teruggee vir hengel. hetsy op klubbestuur of provinsiaal. Dis soos Koper ook geskryf het dat hang van jou bydrae af.
As jy wil fout vind sal jy altyd plek kry daarvoor. So wees positief en maak 'n sukse daarvan.

selfs al die social hengelaars wat nou RASSPL begin vang moet onthou dit is ook 'n vorm van georgaiseerde hengel.Daat is ook n bestuur of organiseerders by betrokke. so as hulle dan in vrede kan saam visvang dan kan ander klubs ook in vrede saam visvang.
In al die jare wat ek hengel was nie een provinsiale hengelaar nie bereid om raad te gee nie. Dit hang net van jou eie benadering af.
Ja daar is politiek betrokke en goed wat nie vir almal aanvaarbaar is nie, maar so is daar orals in die wereld daar buite.
die lekkerste op die oomblik is om met die juniors betrokke te wees. Om jong seuns te vat en hulle te laat visvang en sien hoe hulle vorder en hoe hulle dit geniet is absoluut die moeite werd.

Very difficult question with plenty answers. Yes it is what u make of it. Buuut
I fished 10years bass at provincial and club level and jealousy and club polotics made me pack it in.
I've been asked to join a club and have thought about it but the k@k from previous holds me back. I need a break.
I know the guys in a few clubs in my area and they r cool okes but jarre I'm not keen for more politics

Please guys. Take it as it is u will learn no doubt but its not school. Put the work in and ull get results. Don't expect to be led on.

Maybe one day ill go competitive again. For now I'm enjoying myself
