After work on Sat eve went for a short session on east pier,I wanted to avoid the crowd on west pier catching elf, after two hours blanking I went home.

On Sunday I went scratching for a few bronze bream ,but also blanked as water was a bit cold,on the way home thought I would go past the pier to see whats happening, crowds were gone so I thought I would give it a bash,I had no pillie so managed to catch a small blacktail, filleted and put it out with nice big float, hour later still no touch, just as I am about to give up ,float disapears, but shad wriggles loose on the rocks.

By this time about 6 other guys rock up and shad are going nuts,I manage to bum two sards and land one shad and loose 3,not ideal catching elf with a 12ft and shimano15/30

Nice sunset on Sat eve

at least you got bait/breakfast

perhaps consider keeping a spoon in your bag at all times, never know when it may come in handy

@Mouldie I am glad to see they are on there way up the coast. We had a ball with them this weekend. There were plenty of them on Friday night at the one spot we fished, not big but man were they gail. Went thru to Bushy area on Sat. late arvi with my dad and boy oh boy the elf were wild. Never seen anything like it before. On top of it all they were good size fish to.
