Me, riaandl and his younger brother went out today to St Francis. The idea was to hit the beach at eldabara for some kobbies, then over to shelly beach for cracker/steenbras and then back to Anne ave to target rays. On our way at around 3:30 we ran into some heavy fog. Not a good omen but hey, we were already packed.

Riaandl's first cast produced this sharkie. Looks like a little hardnosed hound? Anyone?

The two brothers were quickly hitting the sandies and blues hard. Meanwhile I was standing around, two rod in the water and nothing is biting.

Double up

Riaan really hit those blue rays hard, catching a lot of them, and slowly but surely they were getting bigger.

Meanwhile, our designated live bait catcher, aptly named the ghillie was also getting into some fish. It was fun watching him fighting the blue rays on such light tackle

Riaan's next cast proved to be spot on as he hooked into something big. We all thought it was a duckbill.

On his next cast I made some comments about the tiny little bait and hook he was using. He responded by landing his first diamond. Meanwhile I was still on 0, while both of them have landed a couple of fish.

The tide was dropping so we moved position. I had two pickups from BIG kob (stripping line against a tight drag), but lost both. Riaan caught some barbel and the ghillie finished the session with a sandy. All in all a good morning with a lot of fish being landed.

nice guys!!

use the SASAA one, the ORI measurements are not gender specific and seem to favour the lighter males i.e. use the males weight for the whole species
