Klomp van die hengelaars my geskakel of gemail en gesê hulle stel baie belang in die kompetisie. Ek het ook met van my vriende in ander klubs en op ander forums gesels en hulle stel ook almal belang om te join. So die eerste  â€œCACH FOT CACH” vind nou beslis die 28 Julie 2007 plaas. Ps ons moet ook kyk om die juniors betrokke te kry.….Great idea OD. Ons sal moet soek vir  sponsored pryse vir hulle en ons kan miskien ook n R20 inskrywing vir hulle vra wat dan opgedeel word vir die top drie juniors. Wat se kind sal nie omgee om n galjoen van 1.4kg te vang nie en dan nog R300 te wen en dalk n klein katrol.

this idea is actually enticing the guys to keep there catch and this basically reducing the stocks.if you cared bout your dam you should include in your script that strictly catch and release,i dont think sealine would be able to host it if you do not make it catch and release.

Not speaking for the Sealine Admin team but as an independent member of the site.

The idea of fish for cash is not bad but from a rational and logical standpoint it would be difficult for an organisation like Sealine which is basically a community based web-site to control this..I speak from experience in trying to coolate recently for the winter warmth program

If an organisation has the infracture to handle cash and have responsible individuals to attend to both RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY then we can venture into something like this....I know many will say we all adults and behave to the acceptable norms...however from experience in the field of finance I know this is far from the truth.

It is not an inflection on any particular person but when you do not specific rules and controls when it comes to finance ,,friends can become enemies,,,and that what we dont want in the Sealine Family.

So as a Social exercise for any group ..do it between yourselves and enjoy it

DONT GET PISSED OFF.

I personally release 99.9% of what I catch, I think a lot of the other members do as well. What is wrong with keeping 1 or 2 edibles for the braai. I go fishing for the enjoyment of fishing,. Whether I catch anything or not, makes no difference to me. Yet, considering that I enjoy fish, chicken and then meat in that order I only keep what I can eat the same day.

what pissed me off Jace is the fact that you guys in Durban always organise social events etc etc and its cool and im ALL for it, afterall this is why we are here. but as soon as money is mentioned and sealine is not involved then the topic just gets deleted!!! is that fair? it would have been better if admin had posted a comment before deleting it, the only reason it was put back is because i emailed admin and asked such questions, and suggested that in the interests of transparency and better relations with the (now many more than a month or so ago) CT members, it be replied to and not just "ignored"

Do you not think it could have been a sealine thing? whereby a rate was charged and sponsors organised by sealine as was done for the two oceans comps, and the 'entrance fee' given to sealine to cover "admin" costs ? After all we here in CT would have secured all of that on behalf of sealine anyway, and there would be NO if not very little work to be done on their part.

This is my "proverbial" 2 cents worth, and I'm sorry if you misinterpret my passion for such things!!!

why do we have bag limits Leonard??? we are, according to MCM laws allowed to keep some of what we catch boet!!! I must say though that i release whatever i catch, but don't hold it against the guys who do keep some for the pan, provided they are in accordance with the regulations.

the rationale was to give sealine the cash for costs and maybe put out prizes again, well at least thats the way i understood it. it was afterall only an idea :breakd:

Leonard, wat mens in so geval moet doen is om die deelnemers te educate… ons het al gister gepraat om dit te maak dat deelnemers wat hulle visse hou 3punte per kg kry en die wat dit release 5 punte per kg. Dit sal jou 2 x laat dink voor jy n vis hou as jy weet daar is n paar duisend rand op die spel.

Jace ek het al aan soortgelyke kompetisies in bass hengel deelgeneem (my eerste een gewen) en dit is glad nie so moeilik om te organiseer nie. Voor die tyd weet almal hoeveel mense deelneem en ook vir watse prysgeld op die spel is.

Mike ek kan jou een ding se, as hulle die thread weer del sien hulle nie vir my weer hier nie en ook nie n klomp van die ander hengelaars hier in die kaap nie. Onder andere n paar WP hengelaars en n Springbok wat na die naweek baie opgewonde was om hier betrokke te raak.

Hi guys

Just to clear up a few things

1.0 I was one the members in the early days suggested to Coxy about organising socials in Cape Town.

2.0 There is huge difference between a COMP and a Social....for the Comp there are rules and regulations...

3.0 We organise Socials often in Durban but not under the Sealine Banner..A group of Sealine Members go to these socials...in fact there is nearly one every week with some group or the other.

4.0 As Sealine Members must be encouraged to become active vis these Socials

5.0 I think the Issue with the FISH FOR CASH was that it was labelled as a Comp . and Issue of CAtch And Realease it became an issue in terms of the RULES AND REGULATIONS of Sealine

6.0 As I indicated earlier I am speaking in my own capacity and would really like to this issue resolved with any bad feelings ..we have grown as an organisation and will always face difference of opions...but what makes us tall is how we about resolving them

and you know how easily us guys in CT impart our knowledge, more importantly though, you know how many WP and Springbok anglers are willing to get involved, that is a MAJOR plus for Sealine and ALL their members.

Wel die Comp gaan aan en as sealine die geleentheid wil gebruik om hulle site in die kaap te bemark soveel te beter…. Die komp. is oop vir enige hengelaar van watter site of forum ook al en vir die res wat nie internet toegang het ook nie. Ons gaan pamflette by hengel winkels uitgee en met klubs in die Wp ook praat.
