Exactly how for is the boat launch, and is it still in the premise or will you be pay other entrance per day? Please assist.
Thanks

Boat launch isn't far at all.
When you enter the resort, turn right at the end of the tar road onto a dirt road. That dirt road will take you straight to the boat launch. It is about 1km from the resort entrance.

Same premises. No extra payment.

The boat launch area is by the camping area and is not far but too far to feel comfortable leaving my stuff unattended there. Its in the same area so no need to pay another entrance fee. There will probably be a boat launch fee, but as I did not have a boat I am unsure on this matter.

What I found was early morning is best. The one in the picture I caught with a lure which I think is a crankbait. ( I think :) I'm still new to this). I'll attach the picture of a simular lure that I used ( I lost the one unfortunately that I caught the bass with). I casted the lure over a area that had allot of grass. I also lost another bass (also in the grass area) unfortunately when I used a black fury spinner. I only realized afterwards that I used the incorrect rod for the small treble hook type lures, but I did manage to catch the one in the picture though. Just by the way what kind of work do you do? I would love to work near sterkfontein :)

I know a little bit more about fishing now and I think a top water frog would rock when fished over the grass areas but I could be wrong.

Hi Richeliu, any report back?
I know this dam can be quite challenging. 1 day fishing is good next day not a bite.

I work for a cellphone company,so we travel everywhere.I drove next to the dam and wondered if its worth visiting. The water is very cold though.I wonder whats the biggest bass caught at this dam. Theres very little info about bass fishing at this dam.

I dont see a photo that you said you posted?

I have caught only small bass at this dam, I did see a few pics of some big bass but I think you need a boat.

The cold water only affects fishing in the winter months, in summer the water is still cold but the fish are very active and give a hell of a fight. Even the small carp will give you a proper fight.
