No - unfortunately did not get a chance to fit in some jigging - the billfishing was good, and I was fishing with someone who may not have been too happy to divert our interests to jigging! Did speak quite a bit about it to a few of the skippers - it can be a little touch and go, but if the AJ's are present, they can run big - one boat got a 50 and 60 kilo fish on consecutive days last year..on the jig..food for thought, and definitely worth a go..!!
I think I would definitely go again - August - calmer waters for jigging, bigger blues, plus a good tiger shark would be fun - its turtle nesting season then, so they hang around at that time of year..
Bijagos looks great fun - nice diversity of species and techniques, and an interesting area - definitely agree, would be a great place to wet a line - especially with the lighter casting/popping outfits..!
