Hi Riekert, could you by any chance point me in the direction of an article or a video or 2 on this as I dont have FB and I'm very interested... Particularly in the retrievals and types of rods and setups used.

Just got a Major Craft 10ft shore slow rod and Stella 6k. Keen to take these with me to Angola in July and give shore slow a crack over there. No idea if it will work though

Yeah I dont do the whole vleisboek thing.
Already got some info on lures etc. Imagine getting a good kobbie working a slow flutter in some foamies. Bound to be fun

No worries. Exactly & I can’t agree more. Can’t wait to hear that Stella sing. I’m in Australia so can’t help you with local dealers in SA . I import most of my stuff from Japan

I am miles away from anywhere... So buying online from Singapore or from Jhb is the same. I've brought in loads of Major Craft (and other manufacturers) stuff from an online seller who goes by the name of Shimreels. You can buy from him directly or work through his eBay shop. I recently picked up 2 N-One rods, both shipped, cleared and delivered to my door, for under R3k a piece.

I've always been a great supporter of "local" but many local online sites simply don't have the info, the service, the pricing and don't respond to basics like emails. There are a hand full of exceptions but to be honest, my dealings with Shimreels, and a few American outlets (as well incidentally, as waveinn.com who shocked me with amazing prices and service) have all been fantastic. One just needs to do the research on the product itself, and know what it is that you are ordering when you shop online.

Jigstar Africa carry a lot of slow jigging stuff here in SA, and they are very reliable. I haven't bought from Outdoors 365 so can't comment except that I found their website incredibly vacant. Haven't tried in a while tho.

Thanks Limpopo.Found a few local shops stocking slow jigs.Very keen to get a kobbie this way.

Stuff is cheaper from Japan compared to over here in Australia. And shore slow is not that well known here yet
