Water flat and some nice color, but wind to strong to go out in kayak. Tried dropshot from the side, but my setup was not right. The line was to thick. Changed it to 30 lb braid, so better luck tomorrow night.

Have you ever tried and had any success in that pool in front of the firestation when its high tide , where the parking lot is.I know its good in winter for gallies , got some nice sizers in there a while back , but every now and then i give a throw there and if you stand on the beach , you need to throw to the right , there is a gulley which leads out and is relatively free of seaweed.Just wondered because in the past i have had a pickup that screams off and either breaks the hook leader or once you strike , drops it.Wondered what it could be , cob or geelbek???? Never seen anything else come out there apart from skaamies......

Never tried that spot, but I always paddle through that pool when I go to the vlei. I know of the gully you talk about. There is a very deep hole just outside the pool to the right, so it could be anything that picked you up, even a cow shark.

Maybe should try dropshot from the rocks close by on low tide , you can see the gully if you get close , might be interesting , there are always small haarders swimming around there...........
