Sealice Chutney / Curry

Targeting pompano at durban blue lagoon with sealice. too much weed in the water. after 4hrs ..With No bites at all, I decided to packup and take the left over bait FRESH sealice home to make a chutney... been a while, so I was looking forward to it. YUM.

Preparation.... Place sealine in a container. Wash the sealice thoroughly(few times). Making sure theres no sand  left at the bottom.

remove head, shell, eggs... should look like pic below... make sure you rinse thoroughly again.

heat some oil in a pan, while you saute the cleaned sealice in masala and salt.

- Fry sealice and remove from pan. USE SAME OIL TO FRY ONION
- add 1 sliced onion fry until translucent
- add chillie(optional)
- add spices ( 1/4 teaspoon masala, dahnia powder)(optional)
- add 3 or 4 tomatoes
- add salt
- add fried sealice once chutney is almost cooked.

ENJOY

looks yummy and never thought of eating sealice. do you eat the whole lot, leg and all or do you suck and pick at the flesh?

Also try whole, rinse properly with clean water. Dry with cloth or paper towel. Fry on pan with olive oil spice with garlic salt.

Yummie bar snacks.

Very very innovative.Cant say that I have ever heard of this before,but also can't find any reason why they wouldn't be scrumptious.

Best part is that nothing goes to waste_seal1_

I remember when i was a lot younger my dad use to make this for us. Really delicious, next time you could try throwing in a few muscles and serve with garlic bread. Deeeeeelicious.... :)
