If they can deal with the binding issues inherent in Lever Drags, and build it so it can cast as well as its Star Drag cousin, there might be a new Kid on the Block....

Eish! That looks wicked! I just bought the Saltist LD 40. Can only imagine how good this one is if the Saltist is so awesome.

Darrenk has one held it and played around with it still waiting to get a cast with it. Nice reel and i stand corrected when i say the gonna retail at about 3k. I will stick to my trini's tho.

Well, you jock is not really funny, as the older models on sell now carries a Mias price tag of ZAR 5 800.

Below see (not for the ones that measure bolts, the size of the springs and how many buckets of grease one can stick in the reel... wow), something that may explain the difference in prices of similar reels from a different manufacturers:

  “…reel design hasn't been compromised for quality because of manufacturing costs[/b]. It's been our philosophy in designing reels that "cost follows product[/b]," not "product follows cost[/b]." We didn't decide on "price points[/b]" and then find ourselves forced to design reels within the manufacturing constraints of that price class. Always said I wanted a leverdrag that can cast like a star drag. You have MUCH more control over your drag pressure, cause while fighting a fish on stardrag it's more a case of wonder while you turn, with lever it's "pre set" so it's more usable.

If only Shimano would do the same ...
