Saldanha Iron Ore Report

So with much Viskoors Hype on our BBM chat group , Friday evening had finally arrived for us to depart, taking the road to Saldanha. Myself , Chuck ,Ludo and Faya  left Cape Town at 21:45 with Faya and Ludo going to their first comp so the talk of sleeping was " Not Cool" according to them ! We Arrived in the Baan at 23:30 pm as we took an easy ride thru and now ready to pump a crater for our prawn .Got Quota and headed off to the gate .To My suprise there was a ' moviese queue ' of ouens who's Viskoors was worse than ours ! For those who knows the distance from the gate to the bridge ,we stood 150m away from the bridge !

At 1am ,after a bite to eat the manne decides they gonna play cards ! the only thing that made us abort the game after 5 rounds was the extreme coldness , so at 3am ,almal innie bakkie ! and the chirping started !

4am ,activity, guys waking up,stretching their legs, coffee being made ,guys rushing up and down ,couple of farts been given off from excitement ,cars starting ......and off we go,tickets in the hand, security check.....passed ......and on our way to find a spot !

on route to our spot....good grief...seems like the whole Western Cape is here......car regs....CA.....CY......CF.......CW ...yor and it filled up quick ! got to the dam gates...closed ...bummer...turned around and settled for a spot !!

On your marks.....get set....GO....GO.....GO... ! in a space of 3 minutes, both Faya  and Ludo's Rod,reel and traces were assembled and ready ...and they both had two rods  !

At 5am these 2 blokes all baited up and ready only to be informed that at 6am is Lines in ! ...Shame...the evil eyes I got ! 6am arrives and the first sound of a reel by someone close to us is .....Zaaaaaang , Twat ......snap ,I think he's sinker landed somewhere in the Baan , and off goes Faya and Ludo ! a mighty....... Gwwwiiiip..... from the sport rod from Faya and all lines in ! I'm busy rigging my Sport Rod and Faya's 8ft vengeance goes vas in the rod stand while hes standing in a casting position with his 110H, I have never seen a guy left clueless on what to do and the 110h nearly got thown into a rodstand from the adrenalin rush......

Vas and he plays the stump and lands it .35cm ....nice .As the sun comes up ,fishing is slow and around 8am i manage to land a 44cm on a 8ft megaforce paired with a solstace 2500 with 12lb braid...what a rush

as the day commences ..fishing was very slow as the wind was north the morning and only picked up to South West later the afternoon with the push of the tide !

All in All a lekker trip and waiting patiently for the next one !!
