Ryan my main man,
Sorry for my late compliments,and welcome back,hectic,hectic Saturday.Congrats on some outstanding specimens,and a big congrats to Sealine barbel forum for supporting this thread.Even more for the knowledgeable predictions made,except for the few that was made tongue in cheek the guys were very calculated,24 votes were cast in total of which 10 were in the correct bracket of between 19 kg and 22 kg's.If my conversions are correct then 47 lbs converts to 21.31 kilos.Trophy has already aknowledged that he was spot-on with his prediction,now to find the other 9 "honest" anglers(if something like that exists) to come forward and take up their respective honors.

guys how big do you think my barbel was?go have a look in the fresh water gallery!remember this was caught on a whole chicken

Ag the hell with it Lenny,it is a beautiful specimen and it does'nt really matter what it weighs,although at first glance it looks like a 40 pounder,but thats not the reason a bloke like you, who have caught more than your fair share of fish actually fishes,is it now.Congratulations on a great catch and believe me, you are being envied big-time.
At least now you should have a hint of a smile on your face, and a dream- catch in your bag.

Guys guys... Too much flowers for Ryan here. Compared to Orange River barbel that barbel is still in the tadpole (infant) stage of growth and should actually be considered under size

I'm just glad you didn't come back empty handed Ryan. Catching those small ones comes from sneaking off by your lonesome self with the musses to go 'fishing'.

I agree wholeheartedly Marthin,maybe a hint in Ryan's direction can get us plebs the nod to get an invite to go on a SEALINE BARBEL HUNTING EXPEDITION.I suppose we have until more or less April next year to get something off the ground,now wouldn't it be something to look forward to.Guys like Trophy and Fanie who has experience in that neck of the woods ,can team up and make it an unforgettable get-together.Coupled with Ryan 's newfound enthusiasm,we are really sitting on a winning concept here.
