Rondevlei fishing spots

I'm planning to go fish there this weekend and decided today, since I'm driving around in the area, to go check it out and find out about prices.

The ranger at the front gate allowed me to walk to the fishing spots to have a look. Apparently there are only three fishing spots from the bank (three Jetties) and they are small!! While I was standing on them I struggled to imagine my rods and equipment all fitting there, and that is only for one person! I'm planning to go through with two buddies.

Now, could someone shed some light on this, is this really the only fishing spots? I've heard so much about Rondevlei yet it only has fishing space for three people? Or I'm I missing something here?

I completely forgot that I created this thread. Anyway, I went to Rondevlei in July with a friend and we caught some beautiful fish from the day jetty.

We were there for about 4 hours and caught 10 carp between the two of us. The wind was terrible, blew our wooden muti box over a few times and it was crap cold. The size of the jetty also didn't help making it a comfortable experience, but after I landed the first one, and we realised what size fish are biting, everything else was forgotten!

The big fish bug has bitten me well now, planning a weekend on the island end of the year and already started getting specimen gear together!

PS, excuse the quality of the photos, the photografer had now idea what he was doing...(or he intentionally left out my ugly mug :fbash)

The jetties are not far from the parking lot. It is R12 to enter and R40 to fish for the day.

Just come early, fishing spots are very limited.

If I recall correctly, they open at 07:30.

The person at the gate didn't ask for my license, but I carry it always with me. The last thing you want is to have a good fishing session spoilt because you forgot your license at home.
