ROCKET FUEL

Hey guys..from some personal experience beware off using rocket fuel in your reel if it gets thoroughly washed or submerged...it tends to wash off quite easily leaving your bearings unprotected..secondly the viscosity off rocket fuel is extremely thin..during hard casting it actually burns your bearings out...BUT if u service your reels yourself and are prepared to open and reoil often then by all means it's well worth it...an alternative would be to mix rocket fuel proportionally with some prolong...makes an excellent mix that doesn't gum up over time...hope this helps...

excellent advice. rocket fuel is no good if you wade at all! a mate of mine has a great trick with prolong. he puts the bearing on a teaspoon and heats it over a candle (looks a bit like a dodgy junkie action to be fair!) then when it's hot he drops it into a container of prolong, the bearings expand just enough to allow the oil to be sucked right in as it cools down! seems to work like a charm.

Howzit guys . Where can one purchase rocket fuel? And how does it cost roughly?

Can you suggest which would be more effective prolong or rocket fuel ?

hey diesal,

rocket fuel costs approx R60 a bottle, if i remember correctly the bottle is approx 100ml, my oppinion is to mix both rocket fuel and prolong, its actually cheaper to buy prolong and use it on its own as the bottle is much bigger, also prolong has water displacing properties in its composition hence it works much better!!!!!

@ nivi and blade.... when yourll free guys? just let me know and we can operate it....
