Rietspruit dam

Hey guys,

I am planning to go to Rietspruit dam soon (around the end of november) and would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out.

I have done some research on the place and from what i have found is that section b is probably the ideal place for me to sit as it looks to be an all rounder, I have read that it has decent fishing and is close to the facilities.

However does section B have electricity?
Which is the best section for fishing?
Which are the best pegs to sit at in that section?

With regards to distance, how far is the ideal distance to go out? I might be bringing along a canoe with me , however i might not be able to so please could you guys tell me distances that are ideal for casting from the bank and with the use of the canoe?

I am going in summer, and so far i have only found out which baits work in the winter. So please could you inform me on some baits to use for the different fish found in the dam?

thanks,
Sharon :SSS

You dont need a canoe altough the bigger carp will be deeper. The B and C are good areas but C has nothing. Muddies and smaller carp could be caught between 30 and 50m. Use small hooks for the muddies. Anything sweet and fruity works well ( FX, Lootie and if the wind picks up almond). There are also some nice barbel +10kg.

sterkte
